MY Lil' Brother

I have to take a moment to give a shout out to my "lil bro". Let me tell you about him...he's 21 months younger than me, looks a lot like me (only taller and masculine...and a bigger nose) and he's got a beautiful wife and 3 absolutely adorable children (again if I knew how to put pics on here, you could see the cuties). They live in Wyoming (where is that?) and seem to be thriving there! My brother loves God and his family and he has overcome some really rough things in his life to become a stronger person. I know that there are daily struggles, but I see a willingness to be broken and reformed into the man God wants him to be. We had our moments of strife as we were growing up and even now sometimes, but if anyone else was to ever make fun of him or say anything bad about them, I had to take on the role of Big Sis and "take care" of them. I, on the other hand, can be as mean to him as I want to...isn't that what families are for?? I'm kidding of course...my brother is cool (he reads my blog) and I would not trade him for anyone else. And of course he brought my sister in law into the family...so he gets even more pats on the back for that!! I love ya, lil' bro!!!

God's BEAUTIFUL creation

Co rocks

Ed and I just returned this weekend from our fabulous trip to Colorado...not only did we get to see my family whom we hadn't seen in close to a year, but we also got to see some of the most beautiful scenery in the land. We saw high mountains and deep gorges and waterfalls and rivers from the melting snow. It was fantastic and if I can ever figure out how to load a picture or 2 you (the 2 people who read my blog) might get to see some of it.

This was an amazing time for Ed and I to also revitalize the marriage without work getting in the way. See when you both work for the same place - a church, no less - you have to be very careful to put spaces in between your homelife and your work life. We have a tendancy to be consumed with the passion we feel for our jobs and carry that over to home. Home is where we need to be developing our relationship and taking care of the things we need to around the house. So this trip brought us closer together because we had MANY hours in the car to talk and process through many things.

And the coolest thing for Ed was that he got to drive in 4WD...we rented a Chevy Trail Blazer to go from Grand Junction where my parents live to Ouray where we were spending a few nights by ourselves. Ed was loving life being able to change from normal driving to 4WD at the click of a button! :D The things that make us happy!

Hopefully some pictures will be forthcoming soon...
