California Dreamin'

Well, we spent a few days in CA at the Saddleback Church Children's conference. The children's pastor, Craig Jutila, spent some time sharing how Saddleback does things - they are utilizing video in their children's services along with a MC. It was interesting to see it in action and to take a look at their timeline for getting things done. Kind of puts it in perspective...the amount of time it takes to develop and produce video curriculum.

On day ONE of the conference, I turned around and caught the eye of none other than MIKE HARRISON!!! He was my Youth Pastor when I was a senior in HS so he knew me "back when..." It was great to catch up a little bit with him in person (even though we did some catching up via good ole SBC a few weeks earlier). He had brought a couple of his children's workers to the conference.

For fun in the evenings, we went to Downtown Disney, Downtown LA, Hollywood Hills and HW Walk of Fame, saw Sahara at Mann's Chinese Theatre, and lastly went to the beach. It was a great time (except that I got sick Wednesday night and was sick for the next 5 days or so). UGH!!

Then it was off to Dallas for the night and the next morning we headed out for CO to see the family...more on that in the next post!
